We Are Having A Baby!

It's official! The word is finally out!
We can hardly contain our excitement! I have promised myself that I will be such a great blogger while I am pregnant and especially once we have a baby.
So here it goes! I want to document everything! Each week I'll be posting a new pic and new stats on the little one.

This time around I am doing an update/review of all of the weeks leading up to now.

How far along? 9 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Well... just about two weeks ago I was down close to 10 pounds (it was the nausea) and now I'm back up to normal weight!
Maternity clothes? Haven't even thought about them yet.
Stretch marks? Once again, they better not be crossing my mind for a while!
Sleep: Who knew you wake up to pee in the middle of the night ALREADY?! So not loving this...
Best moment this week: We had our first doctors visit! Everything seems healthy and we saw the baby on an ultrasound machine. It was so tiny and perfect! We got a little misty eyed...
Have you told family and friends? This is our formal announcement for those of you who we haven't seen in person yet!
Miss anything? Having a normal relationship with food. Also sleeping through the night and not worrying about my stomach every five minutes.
Food cravings: Nothing even sounds good. I am still waiting to get those cravings.
Anything making you queasy or sick: EVERYTHING! No puking involved, but I can't get through a normal day without feeling like I am about to!
Have you started to show yet? I'd like to think so. At night my belly looks way bigger than it normally does. But during the day I just have a slight pooch.
Gender prediction: Typical... I'd love a Girl, Steve really wants a Boy.
Belly button in or out? In.
Happy or moody most of the time: I hate to say it, but I'm moody. I just get so mad about constantly being sick!
Looking forward to: Getting over this nausea! They say it usually goes away around 14 weeks. So I'm counting down the days!

As you can see I have been feeling miserable. I have been through such a roller coaster of ups and downs with my nausea. I still have yet to make it through one day of feeling like I am normal again. But that's what comes with bringing a life into this world! We are so thrilled and wouldn't change any of this for the world!

Family Pictures

We had our family pictures taken this August in the Thanksgiving Point Gardens. It was my mom's side of the family, she has 9 brothers and sisters and each one of them had 4+ kids. Needless to say the number was up around 50! I love my family so much and think these turned out beautifully!

My family

My mom, two youngest sisters and step dad Jared
I love the colors of the pictures and think Tiffinee did an amazing job!

Her website is tiffineedawn.com

I love my family!

Summers End

Wow how time flies.
I promised myself to keep up on this summer and now it's almost October! This is the last of our adventures in New Jersey but we did this stuff in July! So sorry for my delay... But it was by far the highlight of our summer so I am really glad I'm catching up!

On July 15th we went to the Hill Cumorah Pageant in Palmyra New York. It was about a 4 hour drive to upstate, and we spent the weekend up there. The first day we went to go see Palmyra and of course the pageant. We got to the Pageant grounds around 11 and NOBODY was there! We thought it was so funny we got there so early and we were the only ones there. We staked out our spot and walked all around. People got to climb the hill to this little Joseph Smith monument and we loved the view from the top!
I'll jump ahead to the pageant for the pictures sake. It was such an amazing show! There were over 500 people in the cast! Everyone came out before and mingled with the audience. We are pictured here with I believe a Nephite and a Lamanite. The show was just about the Book of Mormon and all the heroes we read about. There was FIRE, WATER FALLS and A FULL SIZED BOAT on the stage! This was for sure broadway quality work here. We loved every minute of it and could really feel the spirit.

While we were waiting for the show to start we went to see the sacred grove, the Smith house and the temple. The sacred grove was the most amazing experience ever. We thought it was just a small little spot that would be crowded and noisy. But when we walked in the spirit just surrounded us and we felt so so amazing to be in the place where Joseph Smith actually knelt in prayer. It was super quiet and actually quite large. We were alone for most of the time and just felt such a wonderful peace the entire time we where there. I got teary eyed the moment we walked in because it looked identical to any pictures or paintings I have ever seen of it.
The temple was simple and beautiful. We also saw a few other monuments like the Smith home as well as we watched the Joseph Smith movie. That movie makes me cry every time! It is so amazing how someone so young could endure so much and still have the strength to move on.

We had such an amazing time in Palmyra and would recommend it to anyone who is thinking about going!
Palmyra is only about an hour and a half away from the edge of the U.S. So we thought for sure we had to go see Niagara Falls! And of course we had to see it on the Canadian side! It was super packed that weekend and really hot too. It was the most spectacular thing we have ever seen though! There was a ton of mist constantly coming off the falls and there is always a beautiful rainbow! We unfortunately didn't get to go on the Maid of the Mist boat because they were all sold out that day! So Canada bummed us out a bit and we actually didn't stay too long there.
This is really funny to say but one of the serious highlights of our trip up was passing by the cutest little town in all of America. It is right off of one of the finger lakes in NY (there are 11) its a small town called Skaneateles. HUUH? haha we did the same thing. It's pronounced skinny atlas. But it was so flippin cute! The lake was beautiful and the town was so prim and quaint. We are for sure without a doubt having a summer home there on that lake, its that precious! We walked out on this cute little dock in the middle of the lake. (the lake is so crystal clear the people of Skaneateles actually drink this water!) I'm sad I didn't get any good pictures of the place, but it actually wouldn't have done it justice! Just trust me on this one...
Ha nice face.

Well we had a great time this summer in New Jersey! We are sooo glad to be home though! I think our east coast summers are now over, and oddly enough, we are ok with it. Home is always the best place to be.

Now back to school, back to reality! Hope all of you had a wonderful Summer!

Update

OK, I am so sorry for how terrible I have been about writing this summer but I promise to update you all right now! I got a job while being out here and I work 10 hour days and get home at 8pm. So I haven't had any energy or time to write! But we are having a great time out here! We don't do much because I work on the weekends as well, but what we have done has been lots of fun! So here it goes...

Our Two Year Anniversary
We spent our second year anniversary here on the east coast and decided to take a weekend trip down to Atlantic City! (about a 2 hour drive) Steven surprised me and didn't tell me we were going until the day we left! He got us tickets to Michael Buble and we had a blast! We also ate at the awesome Melting Pot. Such a memorable weekend! We loved getting away from it all and thought Atlantic City could be our mini Vegas getaway :)

Stephen and Ariel
Stevens good mission buddy Stephen hehe... Came out to live in the city for the summer and had his wife visit one weekend. We decided to play in the city and show them all around. They wanted to see Wicked so we stood in line for the lottery. We thought we had a pretty good chance of winning because it was 4 names that could be drawn. We told them that if we won we would give them our tickets and of course... I WON! It was a little sad to give up front row to one of the best Broadway shows but I just knew they would love it! Also Ariel was wearing her cute green necklace! A sign that she just had to go! We also ate in little Italy at Lombardi's pizza that night. They loved the pizza so much they said they went back in just a few days! We loved playing tour guide and had a great time hanging out with them!

Summer 2011 Shows
We haven't seen nearly as many shows this summer as last (our count was up to 25!) But we have seen some good ones! How to Succeed in Buisness without Really Trying, with Harry Potter was super cute! Spiderman had an awesome set but terrible music! haha Anything Goes had the ever so famous Sutton Foster, who is brilliant by the way. She is the best actor on Broadway and was super cute! We saw Beauty and the Beast (the inside of the theater is the tiny pic on the bottom corner) and also went to David Letterman! Where Lady Gaga was the star and we got a few seconds of face time with the TV! Even though we haven't seen as many shows, we are still happy with the ones we have seen!

New Jersey State Fair
We loved going to the fair! We are a sucker for fried Oreos and terrible entertainment! We got to feed a camel in the petting zoo (which I was terrified of) and Steve got to be part of the act at the circus! Coke was there with this amazing Coke bar that was like 30 degrees and snowing inside this little dome! We got our picture taken inside with the coke bear and our little free samples of Coke! We loved it in there especially because it was so hot outside!

4th of July
The 4th of July is the best part about spending our summer in New York! We get to see the world famous firework show put on by Macy's and this year it was better than last! We scoped out our spot at this park at about 2 in the afternoon! We were so glad we did because people were going crazy and crowding around everywhere to see the show! They were lit off over the Hudson on 5 barges and were all timed by computers. We had a great day of just playing card games and having fun at the park.

We have since then gone to Palmyra and Niagara falls and I can't wait to post all about that! It will be a much bigger and better post ;) Thanks for being patient! I promise to be better about updating, and just to let you know we only have 2 weeks left!
Yay!

2,422 miles in 9 days

Road Trip Across the USA!
(Brace yourself... It's a long one!)

As you all know, Steve and I hit the road for a great adventure this summer in New Jersey! We decided to drive our car this year because Steve would need it to get to work everyday. Steve spent about a week planning out exactly everything that our road trip would consist of. He was so excited for everything he had planned! The only catch.....

It was going to take us 9 days to get there!!!!!

I almost died a little bit when I heard this. But I had faith that he knew what he was talking about and that we were going to have fun no matter what! People looked at us like we had a screw missing in our head when we told them it would take us 9 days to drive 40 hours. But we were determined....

I had never driven anywhere east and was sooo excited to see the country! little did I know that anything east of the Rockys is pretty much the most ugly pieces of land America has to offer. But enough about the sights, lets talk agenda here people!

Our trip started bright and early on Monday morning as we said bye to rainy Salt Lake looked forward to the road ahead of us. With the car filled up with (wet) luggage, treats to last a week, drinks already cool in a cooler, and our new ipad itching to be played, we knew nothing could stop us! Our first day we made it all the way to Cheyenne Wyoming. :) There wasn't a whole lot for that little town to offer us, so we really didn't do much except hang out at our hotel.

The Second day we drove from Cheyenne to Omaha Nebraska. Now I am one to never complain about a new adventure, but Nebraska has got to be the most boring state in the US! No cows, trees, windmills or towns to look at on the way! nothing but flat ground. Ha boring! But we still kept ourselves busy. We were staying in Omaha because Michelle's (the girl who we are living with here in Jersey) Mother lives in Omaha. That is where she was originally from. We had never met her mom but she was such a sweet lady! She made us dinner and made us feel right at home. We told here there was a church history sight in Omaha and wanted to check it out. Her friend Terry and her tagged along to check out Winters Quarters with us. They aren't Mormon so it was a new experience for them.

The Third day we drove from Omaha Nebraska to Rockford Illinois. The reason why we stayed in Rockford is because our friends Kim and Sky have a sweet mom that lives there! Kim was dying for me to stay with her mom and was a little sad she couldn't tag along for the ride. We had such a great time with her mom though! She also made us dinner and took us on a walk around the neighborhood. Her name is Coleen and is a seminary teacher for the local high school. She is such a funny lady and can totally talk your ear off!

The Fourth day we took it a little easy. We only drove from Rockford to Chicago which is about an hour drive. We wanted to see the city because neither of us had been before! As we drove in we got the same dirty feeling you get driving into New York. We kept thinking how small it was! (Some New York brats we are) The city is actually pretty big, but a lot of the buildings were covered by sad rain clouds! We got to see a Cubs game that day, they lost but it was still fun! We then walked all around Chicago to see what it had to offer. The miracle mile shops were great and so was the Navy Pier! It was so quaint and beautiful. The lake Michigan is right on the edge of Chicago and is HUGE!!! I had no idea how large it was. When we looked off the edge of the pier it literally looked like the ocean! We could not see land anywhere on the other side. We of course had to get some of Chicago's finest deep dish pizza to compare to our resident favorite thin crust. I really enjoyed it but Steve is still a thin crust man!

The Fifth day we spent driving from Chicago Illinois to Dayton Ohio. Now here is the part when our fast trip becomes extremely slow! My sweet husband spent his mission in Columbus Ohio from 2005 to 2007 and hasn't been back to see the people of Ohio since! I feel like I should let him take over to tell you all about what we did but he is leaving it up to me! So we spent the first day in Dayton, which is like an hour away from Columbus. He served in this area for a part of his mission and became attached to the Lewis family. They were out of town this weekend but still let us stay at their home for the night! So generous. It rained most of the time we were there so we didn't do much. Steve showed me all of the little places he went and took me to a diner he loved called the Buckhorn Tavern. He was dying over the steak and said he had been dreaming of it for the past 4 years! haha He also took me to this gas station called UDF (United Dairy Farmers) to get some ice cream. I was a bit of a skeptic because I thought ice cream from a gas station sounded gross but it was AMAZING! We got a kind that was called Blue Moo cookie dough and tasted like heaven. It was of course blue, with a cake taste and huge pieces of cookie dough! Very delightful. We also visited another friend he became close with named Dave Laycox. It was so nice to put faces with names and to see where Steve had served for so long!

The Sixth day we drove to Columbus from Dayton, which is only an hour drive. We were now driving to see the Tyler's. Steve says this couple made his mission all worth it. They are the sweetest people ever! He helped Dave come back into the church while helping his wife Nancy become baptized in the church. Steve loved them so much that when the time came for them to be sealed in the temple, they came to Salt Lake and they stayed with Steve's mom Jane! (They kept talking about "Sister Fuller's" dinner she made them and how great it was! Even though she is technically Sister Brown :)) We stayed with this family for three days! We chatted the night away that first day. Nancy was so much like it was crazy! Her and I could talk crafts all day long. We went to church with them on Sunday and it was stake conference. Steve recognized a lot of people there and said it was so great to see everyone! We also hung out with the Hovermale's quite a bit too. I met them last summer when they came to New York for a short visit. They have the most beautiful three boys ever! Such a great family.
On the Third day in Columbus we took a trip north to see Kirtland and a little bit of Amish country. It was about a 4 hour drive north so we had to start early. We went to Berlin, which is the largest population of Amish people in America! We went to a cute little chocolate shop that the Tyler's just loved and then it was on to the cheese! Steve and I were starting to think that we shouldn't be wasting so much time on cheese but were shocked when we came upon Heini's Cheese Chalet. We walked in to find over 100 different kinds of cheese all on display with a sample calling our name in front of them! There was every kind imaginable. Now we are not cheese freaks and don't fall all over cheese but this was not your ordinary cheese! It was Amish made! haha It as so good. We tried everything at least twice! There was also this crazy fudge kind of cheese that Steve says gives you diabetes as soon as you eat it. It was so good! Our favorite flavor was blueberry cheesecake. Mmmmm :) I took a picture of the sickest looking cheese called Moon Cheese.... It was green.... :S

After the Amish tour we headed north to see more church history sights. We first took a pit stop in a city called Hiram Ohio. This was home to the Johnson farm where Joseph Smith had stayed for a period of time. We had the sweetest elderly mission couple give us a personal tour of the home! (It was cold and wet so not a lot of people were out that day) We heard the most amazing stories about that home! There was only one nice bedroom and the Johnson's gave it to Joseph and Emma when they came to stay for about 20 months. This was the house where the story of him being taken from his home while he was sleeping to be drug out into the night and tared and feathered. To then preaching a lesson on forgiveness just the following day. It was so moving to see the actual room where he slept. Steve and I had never been to a place where Joseph Smith had actually been present and it was so amazing!

We then made it to the final destination of Kirtland. We first toured the temple. It isn't owned by our church, but owned by the Community of Christ church. We watched a small video about what they believed happened with the temple and it was a very odd movie. Nothing felt warm and comforting while watching it and I felt so bad for these people who believed so strongly in it! The temple was super neat but didn't feel spiritual in any way. It was just a building. Because it isn't dedicated it is just a building. You could feel the history and could imagine the most wonderful things that took place there, but you just couldn't feel it. After we toured the temple we went to more small history sights. Two younger sister missionaries took us on a tour of a small village that was built around the time of the temple. There was a little store owned by Newel K. Whitney. He also let Joseph stay in a room above the store and that was actually the place where the school of the prophets was. It was so amazing to feel the difference! We watched a little mock up video of what would have happened and I immediately felt the spirit! When we got to go into the room of the school of the prophets I couldn't even hold back the emotion. I just knew Joseph Smith had been there and what the sisters were telling us was true! It was such a neat experience and we learned so much about our churches history.

After our touring that day we drove just a few hours outside the Ohio border to a city called Clearfield Pennsylvania. That is where we made our last and final stop! It was raining (big shock there) and all we did was stay in our room. We were so anxious to drive the final leg of the trip the next day!

This is just some random pics of the view from my window!

By now it is the Ninth day and we are sick and tired of living out of our suit cases! We woke up early and got a head start on the drive ahead. I have never seen anything more beautiful than Pennsylvania! So lush and green! Rolling hills of nothing but the thickest trees ever! Not to mention it was a bit misty rainy so it was kind of like a Hawaii effect with how beautiful it was! We finally crossed the border and were in New Jersey! We couldn't even see the city while driving in because the skies were terrible! But we didn't care because we knew we finally made it!!! We were so ready to unpack and finally call something home for a day or two!

The view of the city from our Jersey side!

It was such a long trip when you look at it as a whole. But we had so much fun seeing the country together and keeping each other entertained the whole way! We aren't too excited about the trip back home and know it for sure wont take 9 days to do it! We are just glad we don't have to really think about it for another three months! We can't wait to see what New Jersey brings and hope it is just as much fun as last summer was!

Happy Birthday!

My cute sister is turning 9 today and I just wanted to wish her a happy birthday!

We can't be there for her birthday because we are all the way across the country. But I wanted her to feel like we were right there with her celebrating her big day! So I made this video specially for her, but you can also watch if you want to see where we are living. :)

We are no video experts (although Steve would like to think he is a real director) so no judging our film!

*UPDATE: Ok we are for sure no experts :( I keep trying to upload the video and I am not so smart with that stuff. So here is the link to the youtube video! Sorry! I'll keep trying to fix it!

The Big News

I have been dying to tell you all a wonderful little secret!!

Do you remember how we lived in New York last summer for an internship that Steven was doing? Well it just so happens that my husband has been offered ANOTHER internship this summer!!!! The best part is.... He was actually offered two. But he could only take one. This past year he has been working for the Jazz doing game operations things and had such a blast! He applied to a whole bunch of places this summer hoping to land a big internship that will look awesome on his resume. He knew that the Jazz experience would help him get another internship just like that one. So.... for the big reveal.....

The New Jersey Nets has offered him his internship for the summer!!! and do you know what New Jersey means???

New York is just a train ride away!!

We are so thrilled to be going out to the city again this summer. Things will definitely be different, but in a good way! for starters, we are driving across the country to get there this year! (We have a whole week planned to get there!) And we are going to be living in a house in Jersey with the sweetest girl ever named Michelle. We met her last summer and had such a great time with her! She said we HAD to live with her if we ever came back.

I just can't wait. It almost makes me cry thinking of the sweaty subway tunnels, the smelly garbage lining the streets, the loads of people everywhere!! ha oh there are so many great things about New York that I love. I mostly love that we get to experience it again! Believe it or not but an entire summer isn't enough time to do everything you want to do! We already have an agenda planned!

So bring it on New York/New Jersey!! We are ready for the summer ahead!!

Doesn't this picture just make you want to scream with excitement?!

Catching up!!!

My Poor Computer.....

Dear Kylie,
Ever since you got an iphone I have become a thing of the past.
You never use me for anything anymore... I feel abandoned and never even get turned on!

I'm sorry computer!! its true though.. I did get a new phone (the coolest phone I have ever owned by the way!) And now my computer never gets turned on. Which means I haven't been on to blog in months! So here is a serious update on our life!!!

For my BIRTHDAY Steven told me we were doing something, but it was a surprise and I couldn't know what it was. He then started driving me up north and said we were going to Idaho to get on a plane and fly to Vegas for the weekend. (It was my 21st birthday so he thought I might have fun testing my luck at gambling.) But as we were driving he said we would take a detour to Logan to get dessert. We pulled up to the Anniversary Inn and I finally got that it was all just a lie! He was just taking me here for a night! But I was wrong... we got to our room and...

We did end up going to Vegas!!! haha just not in the normal way. We had such a great time at the Anniversary Inn and I have to say it was one of the best birthdays to date.

MOVING ON...

I have been crafting quite a bit lately. I'm trying to make our apartment look something like a home and I just wanted to share a few of my little projects I have been working on!

SPRING BREAK was last week and Steven and I for reals went to Vegas! ha we stayed at the Planet Hollywood for about three days and just played around town while we were there. We Say Penn and Teller (the best magic show I have ever seen!) and I got to gamble for my first time! We had a good time, but we lost a lot of money! haha what do you expect though right? Anyway, our favorite part was we got this really cool buffet pass with our room that allowed us to visit 7 different buffets in 24 hours!! Oh and did I mention it is unlimited access in those 24 hours?? Lets just say we each have a nice little spare tire growing around our mid section right about now... It was so fun though! We went to the Rio buffet (supposedly the biggest one in the world, or at least Vegas) the Spice Market Buffet (Planet Hollywood's buffet and some of the best food you will ever have!) Le Village (Paris's buffet, the BEST food ever!!! and its all a little french :) We visited all of those Buffets in just one day! it was bad. We ate food from all around the world and ate sweets like no person should ever eat! haha but it was all worth it.

Oops finger in the way! He was just too cute to leave this pic out!

Serendipity's famous frozen hot chocolate!

After Vegas we drove back to St. George to stay with Steven's mom. We did absolutely nothing while we were there! (which made us feel even worse for eating all that food then being lazy for the rest of the week) We didn't care though. We had a good break from school and work and all that jazz. My mother in law was so cute and took me to one of the best fabric stores I have ever been to. She felt bad because for our wedding she made us both some cute blankets and after I washed mine once it was just never the same :(. So we went back to make me another one! I told her that Steve always stole my blanket so we needed to make this one extra girly. And did we ever! It is so stinking cute I almost don't want to use it! Not only is it sooo cute but it looks like it was made for a 7 year old girl! haha even better.... So here it is! I have to show it off because I am so proud I helped make it!

A little bit of Mini Golfing action! Steve was so serious about keeping score! Thats what he was doing in this picture.

All in all we had such a great week! Now its back to school and work again. Good news though! We only have about 4 weeks left! and there may or may not be a small surprise in store for our future (cough, cough summertime on the East coast is our favorite time of year:)) I MAY be telling you about that latter. But for right now you'll just have to wait and see!

It feels good to be blogging again. Sorry computer for abandoning you! We should have Friday night dates more often :)
