37 Weeks

Ugh I promised myself back in like March that I wouldn't miss another week and what do I do? I miss another week... So sad but life gets crazy around here! It's really hard because our house is super dark and I need to rely on natural lighting to get a decent picture, but when you have a husband that works during the day and even on Saturdays its hard to get a good photo! So excuse the dark shadows as well...

Anyway the baby is finally full term! Ahhhh! I can't believe this little guy could be here any minute. I am getting so excited just thinking about spending my days rocking him and feeding him, going on walks at the park, and spending time with my family and watching them just love all over him. Oh this summer will be GREAT! I am scared for labor though.... That's a whole other topic I'd rather not get in to. haha I can't believe how big my belly is now! It seriously just pops out more and more each day!

How far along: 37 weeks or 9 months or full term :)
Babies measurements: 19.25 in. 6.3 lbs.
Total weight gain: 22. lbs Gosh I gained 2 pounds in just a week!
Maternity clothes: This shirt is actually pre pregnancy. I love it so much more while I'm pregnant though! It was really loose and baggy before and I like the tightness of it now. Speaking of tight, I can't really fit into ANY of my summer t shirts! So not only am I stuck in my one and only pair of maternity jeans, but now I am limited to literally about 3 short sleeved shirts that will fit me. Oh baby you better come soon!
Movement: He is slowing down just a bit now. I can tell that his bum is right under my left ribs and his feet are still in their famous right side. His head is most certainly down because I can feel it just crushing my bladder now! It is probably the most horrific pain I have ever felt. He loves to play more with others. Before when ever someone would go to feel him, he would get shy and hold still. Now he goes crazy and puts on a show!
Food cravings: I don't know why I haven't mentioned this before, but I have this unhealthy obsession with Sonic's Cherry Limeades. Like I can't stop thinking about them... ever... I get one and drink it up in two minutes and just think about the next time I can get my hands on one! haha its so bad... That's probably why I gained 2 pounds in just a week!
Anything making you queasy or sick? We saw What to Expect When Your Expecting and it was such a cute movie! Loved every bit of it, except when the girls decided to throw up like every 5 minutes. I am no longer sick, but when I see a pregnant woman puke I am immediately rushed back to those terrible months of puking and I want to cry! haha
Miss anything? My own personal space. I can no longer bend or even hunch over without a bum in my ribs and a head stuck on my bladder! I miss going about my day without even knowing there was a little human attached to my front. Now it's way too obvious to miss that!
Belly button in or out? It's out.
Looking forward to: His arrival! Lets hope it's sooner rather than later! I am going weekly to see the doc now and the last time he checked me he said I wasn't dilated at all but my cervix is 50% thinned. So lets hope there is more progress by the next appointment!

  1. that personal space thing?? it's gone forever... now you're gonna have a little man on the outside of you attached to your leg, following you everywhere, trying to touch the keyboard when you're typing, and going with you to the bathroom. Before we had lucy, i was the biggest snuggler and just HAD to snuggle with alex when we'd sleep... now, sleep is the only time i have when someone isn't touching me or crawling all over me!
and you'll do great in labor! for me, it was easier than what i had built it up in my head. but i know what you mean... one day it just hit me - "this baby now has to come OUT! aahhh!"
And one more thing... (I'm sure you get a lot of unsolicited advice from people, sorry! i just am so excited for you and want to help in anyway possible) :)
anyways... i had no idea how much you bleed after having a baby! that was a shocker for me. so if you didn't know that, be prepared to bleed for at least 4 weeks afterwards. but i'm sure you already knew that.
okay. i'm done. i should have just called you instead of writing a novel on here!! :)
